Trump being contradictory is not really a revelation is it - it’s his whole persona. But the influence of malign states on elections is certainly concerning, Russia with Brexit (as well as a whole host of elections across Europe). And Iranian bots pushing Scotexit, China trying to infiltrate parliament and UK academia, Russian bungs to the Tories.
Unfortunately social media has made it incredibly easy for them to spam fake news and propaganda, the regulation of social media is incredibly weak and probably a big factor in the growth of western populism. |  | | |
