What did you think? Clearly not Gervais' best work but does it deserve the reaction it's getting? I thought it was ok. Fairly obvious where it was going. I can see why some people didn't like it but I thought it was watchable enough.

Only halfway through so only half a review I guess. Fairly typical post-Office fare from Gervais so far, trying to mix genuine comedy, 'shocking' language and pathos. I agree with you, it's not bad and not great.
On the whole I think Gervais has been allowed a pretty free hand with what he's done post-Office and sometimes I think he could have done with a bit more editing. |  | | |

Thought it was fairly poor and churned out for his audience. Which is fair enough but was a bit gratuitous with the language that it became the opposite of shocking. But then again I thought Afterlife was pretty terrible, sentimental unfunny nonsense yet it seemed to be very popular. Not for me. |  | | |
