Not getting carried away, one swallow doesn't make a summer and all that, but that was a huge step up from what we were able to offer last time round.
We were the team pressing for the win at the end, rather than last time round where we often were the ones on the receiving end of it, having been in the game until we so very regularly weren't. Sunderland looked dangerous a few times in the first half, but we largely kept them at arms length in the second half.
Really encouraging to see strong performances from all of the new signings too.
It'll still be a tough season, but I feel like we've got a really good chance to stay up this time round. |  |

Watching our game and the other prem highlights, our pressing and urgency across the 90 minutes looks on par with other prem sides. Watching spurs funnily enough made me think of them as the town side of 24 tbh.
The fact we have players not quite 100% fit yet, others to return and i'd imagine 2-4 high quality signings to come, I think we have a chance. |  |

Yep, what surprised me was that Sunderland last season were a team known to come on strong at the end of matches. At 1-1 with 15 minutes to go I was expecting a bit of a surge from them, especially considering our bench options. Certainly bodes well but we'll see how the team develops or if that turns out to be an outlier. |  | | |

Yep, we have to be able to give ourselves a fair chance of winning against the mid table and lower end teams, stay in games rather than throw it away with bad mistakes. Even the last PL season we could have easily had another 9 points or so just from cutting out the howlers.
Can already see that there will be teams that struggle who we don't expect to, e.g. Spurs, Palace, maybe even Forest. Brighton fans seem pretty worried as well. Only have to be better than 3 teams! |  |

Agree. Currently watching Villa getting ripped to pieces by Brighton too. Obviously early days and still business by the established clubs to be done but think there will be a few surprises down the lower half of the table going forward. | |
