Presumably the biggest five or six clubs are setting up their lucrative highly friendlies already.
I'm not averse to the idea of a break per se, should stop players from being burnt out but there are two problems with it:
1) Teams will take the opportunity to cash in;
2) The really bad weather int he UK is totally unpredictable, could be anytime over the Winter which could mean two breaks as a result. |  |

They won't really like the idea of midweek games (which could interfere further with League fixtures anyway), so the season will end up longer, encroaching into the summer break instead. |  |

I quite like the staggered break idea. Extend the season for a week and just have reduced games for two weeks.
With that said, the big clubs won't stick to it for five minutes with friendlies half way around the world lined up. |  |
