Would a win just cover up the cracks points as listed 10:17 - Sep 23 with 886 viewsskankerman

Whilst a win would be well received and hopefully give some confidence it doesn't change the following.
1 The style of football
2 The constant chopping and changing
3 The rumours of players dissatisfied
4 The lack of youth having first team opportunity when the new recruits offer little more
5 The lack of real genuine interest from the owner of the club
6 The large summer overhaul of the first team and potentially the reduced quality of new recruits
7 The new management team in general

Our owner has been content to tread water in this division for many years.being relegated might mean he makes a change if things don't improve in the near future
The quality is not what we hoped for, but worth remembering we are not getting spanked every week.
As a club we have been going downhill for many years quality investment and direction will be needed to have any hope of showing any consistent improvement in the future

No. A win would kick start the season and eradicate many of those things you have listed.

But one win could lead to more and that will wipe out half your points. Chopping and changing would stop, confidence would go up, happy players etc...

One win would paper over things but a few wins could turn things around and that has to start with that first win from somewhere.

Crucially, a win would be evidence of improvement. A successful attempt to keep a clean sheet and score in the same game, or to manufacture and convert two or more chances in a match for the first time since early August. It would give something to build upon, a formula which could be repeated. Plus a massive sense of relief and a boost to confidence.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

How can anyone think we are going to win games when we are averaging 1 shot on target every game! With the "rubbish football "last season we were able to offer more shots on target.

That is the core of the current issue with the team. Defensively we're ok. But we can't make enough chances and waste most of the few we do (not getting shots on target, weak corners, wild free kicks).
