A figure of 160,000 has been quoted but presumably that is an estimate. It has been clear for months there would be another election for a leader of the conservative party.
On Sky one of Hunt's backers said he had 2,500 members in his constituency party. Have a feeling party numbers have been growing since the turn of the year and could be a lot higher than the figure most journalists quote.
