Aaah, well done - my brain was trying to compare it with old Tamla songs...

This one has been well documented, even by some of the band members (but not Ritchie Blackmore as far as I know).

I googled that and yes, it seems it's known to be a direct rip off.

Whilst googling, I stumbled on this little gem. Not quite a 'stolen' song, more a stolen metre. Fascinating though:
