Words are truly starting to escape me. on 12:58 - May 27 with 1194 views | Darth_Koont | To be fair to Amazon that's the PR almost all companies do, at least those that are very public facing. The problem is with the media using that sort of stuff verbatim and unedited. But they'll do anything for free content. So it's not really that different for papers and TV networks being an outlet for the government and for politicians to use them as a relatively uncritical platform for delivering their narrative.

Was going to post similar but you've beaten me to it. The fault here lies with the stations, not Amazon (in specific regards to the stations using unfettered material from Amazon) without due diligence.

Working in marketing I see it all the time, most data news pieces via business are pushed as a link building tactic to benefit SEO. But the timing of this is so off. They can’t be that desperate to run business propaganda that contradicts the fact their staff have been dismissed for striking over conditions? It’s like Look East running a feel-good story on Mike Ashley and the Sports Direct warehouse.

Never underestimate how sh!t the media are. Nor how driven they are by lowering costs and squeezing out profit. Amazon is a poor company for many reasons but the media industry use all the same practices and worse. And at least Amazon deliver what you asked for too.

Valid points. It's nothing new but it still boils my p1ss, even more so in the context of timing.
