Sounds abysmal.

When I think back to my own schooldays in the 1980's, the only scandalous things were the French teacher having an affair with one of the RE teachers, and the banning of rubbers that smelt of stuff. Oh and the school canteen not being allowed to serve normal Coke and Pepsi (we had Panda Pops in little bottles).

You get what you pay for. £15k a year for the school quoted in the OP.
