Every pass seems to be backwards regardless of where we are on the pitch.

I fully understand that not every pass can go forward but some have to in order to make any progress.

Literally just as I write this we pass forward and earn a good freekick.

It’s only really when Dozzell gets some space to carry the ball forwards we look like getting somewhere.

Tommy Miller touched on it on commentary - they had their midfield player lose the ball in our box but we were too slow to recognise that as space to exploit and it was too easy for Sunderland to get everyone in position.

Definitely missing Downes in there but even allowing for that we’re too easy to play against.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
