I would be very happy with Paul Cook or the Cowley's.

I probably favour the Cowley's as I think the scenario here is very similar to when they went in at Lincoln, albeit higher up the league ladder. They're localish, and I've read from more than one decent source that they would like the job.

I don't understand why we'd want Danny Cowley. He's never won a promotion from this level, much like Hurst has only really achieved in the bottom of English football as a manager and utterly failed in the Championship, had a lackluster playing career, his football is dire and he was terrible at Huddersfield, nearly relegating them when he inherited a side infinitely better than the one we have now.

Beating us in the cup once shouldn't qualify him to steer this ship out of the rocks Evans is forcing us into, neither should being an ex-player be a qualifier for the role either. I doubt had we not played Lincoln in the cup a few years back when we lost because we didn't show up our fanbase would even be able to name the bloke. We need someone with some experience and has played or managed at the highest level as well as an as an international, has connections in wider football, can be tough with Evans and co. and has experienced getting out of this league with no resources. That man is Nigel Clough, we might have to wait for him until the end of the season.

Nigel Clough has ...
Played for England
Played for four of the countries biggest clubs in Nottingham Forrest, Liverpool, Manchester City and Sheffield Wednesday
Played in the Premier League/First Division
Managed clubs of around our size and reputation in Derby County and Sheffield United
Won promotion to the Championship with Burton...

Yes, he's currently at Mansfield and has done exceptionally well since being appointed winning most of his games - but given that we're probably having to wait for Lambert to fail to be able to afford to sack him, why sack and appoint an inferior manager now when we could appoint a far better one close season, the new manager will miss the transfer window anyway and we aren't going up even if we change now because the team isn't good or fit enough to do so.

We've had the dross, it's time for the Clough.

I think saving a club in freefall from being related such as Huddersfield is on par with getting a team promoted to the Championship.

You know, doing the thing Lambert couldn't do, but we thought he would fix in League 1.

Huddersfield were in free fall when he went there and a playing career has little or no bearing on your prospects as a manager, for example Mourinho, Wenger, both had unremarkable playing careers, while Bobby Charlton, Mick Mills and Gary Neville all struggled

You’re barking up the wrong tree here

I was more worried about the attempt to rhyme dross and clough.....which clearly doesn't work
