Covid Cases still around the late 20,s
Cant see Boris tightening anything any further... I.e garden centres. Click collects closing etc. So we re stuck with these levels of cases for a while.

They are coming down slowly though. We're ahead of England here by a couple of weeks and our case rate is half England's and dropping quickly. So you should see big improvements over the next 2-3 weeks. The numbers are still high though (700ish cases in Wales last 24 hours, compared to 2.5k+ at our peak around Xmas).

And our vaccination rate has shot up too in the last few days - so yes, that's very much good news. Baby steps and all that.

The danger is if Bozo decides to "save" Valentines Day or Easter, much as he tried to do for Christmas. Or if they open schools too early.

For me they've got to make the right call when it comes to schools. I completely understand the need for education and christ homeschooling is hard. But it's not about the teachers safety ( altho of course I sont want them getting ill) but hundreds of kids will pass the virus round. We need half the population vaccined before kids go back imo

Yeah, it's hard isn't it. And it's not doing anyone any good being cooped up. As you say though, it's so important to not kick off another wave of infections through the schools. I haven't seen any stats, but based on our experiences around here the schools were key to the start of the second wave (when the older measures weren't able to contain the new mutation, but we didn't realise until too late).

I'll be delighted when the kids can go back safely though - can't come soon enough.
