I'm sorry, but it won't change with a mildly competent manager. Young players will be sold from under his feet, He won't be backed at critical times, yes a competent manager will make us more competitive. But this squad is not by any stretch of the imagination a side that can compete in the Championship, that will take huge investment. Which he won't commit to. Why didn't he back McCarthy that January? The only reason is to maximise his profit. Thats the mark of the owner we have.

Well, quite, but until Sheik Mohammed bin storing his cash arrives on his camel, we are stuck with Evans and nothing will change.

I don't think it necessarily takes huge investment but as we won't be buying our way up it takes a proper plan, implementing a proper structure and being far more savvy. The embarrassment for Evans should be that on his watch clubs like Burnley, Brentford, Barnsley, Luton, Huddersfield, Norwich (originally) have overtaken us without spending huge sums. And you can already see at this level that clubs like Peterborough and Lincoln operate far more smartly than us.

Yes indeed. Barnsley, for example, are doing a good job since they went up. If Lambert flukes a play off promotion we’d do a Wycombe. No doubt about it. If a Paul Cook came in soon, we’d survive up there. IMO.
