Harrogate Town appreciation post 19:59 - Mar 9 with 460 viewsdominiciawful

Forgetting us for a second, I think it's really good to see how well Harrogate are doing in their first-ever season in the Football League. Leading Colchester 2-0 at HT and currently sitting in 11th.

They only turned professional in 2017. Seem much more refreshing compared to the next-newest FL club, Salford. Not sure I'd even heard of Harrogate Town until a few years ago.

My family are from York and York City used to loan all their youths to Harrogate a few years ago, but now Harrogate are 2 leagues ahead.

Tiny club though so good to see them doing well - when they played at home to York in the National League North a few years back, away fans were about 2/3 of the crowd.

Sadly not much chance of Turkish Bath derby with Harrogate Railway these days, whose sausage, chips, peas and gravy is a delight.

HR is a lovely little club, very friendly, great clubhouse. I went there a few times when they had their FAC tie with one of the Bristol clubs (Rovers I think it was). Much easier to visit too, as they actually have parking - something HT lack completely.

Tried to like H. Town but can't - that luminous lemon yellow in their strip is just too much for my eyes and soul!

Poll: Town's most cultured left foot ever?
