Interesting. I had one of those a couple of weeks ago and just deleted as we weren't expecting anything. It does look more genuine than many similar scams though.

I had one of those yesterday, thankfully it was out of context for me, unlike the example victim on that link who was ready to believe it because of circumstances, and also because people have posted warnings about this scam on facebook so was already alerted to it.

Every warning like this, posted out to the internet helps protect people.

I think it points to how insecure emails/the internet is generally - I've often got scam emails relating to things I've been doing recently - in the past, the worst was that in every time I did online banking, I'd within the next 24 hrs get scam emails purporting to be from my bank (thankfully those stopped over a year ago). Likewise with DPD parcels etc. All down to being tracked on non-VPN connections I guess.

I've signed up with Cifas (tho I did wonder as I was doing it! but link was direct from a Which? regular email that I get as I'm a member & subsctibed to their scam alerts). The reason I did so was falling for that email 'book your NHS Covid jab here' scam that some may remember I posted about here in Jan, which meant some unauthorised turd got hold of a lot of my personal info.
