Any kitchen fitters / plumbers on here? 09:55 - May 25 with 483 viewsNthQldITFC

Does anybody know if the 45 degree 'post' in the back of an overhead corner cabinet (Wickes ca. 2010) pops out, or whether it is pre fitted to the back of the carcass?

I have a plumbing problem to fix, and have just discovered that the so-called kitchen fitters have, I believe, boxed in an inline stopcock that I need to access. I think it has to be behind the post in the back of an overhead cabinet and am hoping I can pop that post out without damaging it if, as I believe it might be, it is just pressed into the cabinet after fitting. This 'post' I am referring to is approximately 60mm wide bit sitting at 45 degrees in the back corner of the cabinet, and it has holes in for the little press in adjustable shelf brackets.

Sorry, way off topic, but this is such a good place for general advice and hopefully this is not too controversial a post, as I have no intention of ripping out the entire kitchen and buying an entire new one before the next cooking season!

Obvious solution is to move house. 😃

Is there no void space at the back of the cabinet ( between wall and back panel of cabinet )? Is it possible to put in a second stopcock in a more accessible area?

I may have to go down that route, but it would require two additional stopcocks as there is a hidden branch as well. If I could confirm that there is one behind this post, I could drill an access hole through it.
