Surely, if you are a player, manager or coach from any of the countries, you'd be thinking twice about going? I just find it incredible at this late stage, CONMEBOL made this decision, without seemingly having a plan B already in place. Brazil probably are the best fit to host such a competition at such short notice regarding infrastructure, after hosting the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics more recently, but it seems like the elephant in the room -Covid - has been dismissed in this case. After all, their reason to strip Argentina as hosts was due to their increase in Covid infection rates. Shameful decision, not really much regard for all those involved, it’s all about the money and potential lost revenue. [Post edited 31 May 2021 20:30]

I know it's all about image and money but you would think if they were going to have games behind closed doors anyway that it would be better to select a location and have some sort of bubble around it until the tournament is over. I believe the MLS did that when they first started again. | |
