With the quality of our transfer business so far, for a relatively small amount of money, do we think Marcus Evans might be feeling rueful? Or perhaps he will if it actually brings success?

For me the new owners, so far at least, are showing what can be achieved with the right people in charge, a little ambition and a modest sum of money. I realise a ball hasn't been kicked in anger yet though.

I actually believe Evans wants the best for ITFC. He has retained a financial interest because he believes in the potential of this project too. Therefore, I think Evans would be pleased.

His time of owning and running things was an unmitigated disaster but not because he didn't want to succeed rather because he had a very poor idea of what would bring it.

Let's see how it goes. I'm old enough to remember when we had the best team and squad in this league under Evan's ownership only 12 months ago.

It looks like we're shaping up well, but proof of the pudding is in the eating and all that.
