Hadn't thought of this guy when we were looking at possible left backs.

Being linked with Oxford showcases his ability, because they have a habit of building great defenders over the past few years. Like Posh are with strikers.

Ashton doesn't want 'ITK's' making deals harder, but a Sun journalist reporting it must mean it's allowed to be common knowledge. Maybe Ipswich/Oxford/Dundee think League One is his highest sale level, so are happy to discuss it publicly.

Sounds like he would be a permanent, whereas Coulson would be a loan deal. Could be an interesting player to be our first-choice left back. What do you guys think?

Yeah saw that as well. That was back in his Scottish Championship days, and he has obviously improved his game since then to be a steady Premiership player so surprised it is just League One sides taking an interest in his signature

"a Sun journalist reporting it must mean it's allowed to be common knowledge."

This will have almost certainly come from the player's agent with exactly the opposite intention. One place it will definitely not have come from will be Ashton.

Oxford have been in for Robson since the departure of Ruffells to Huddersfield Town. It might not have come directly from Ashton, can almost guarantee that, but this isn't a deal that will see 'big' teams dropping in.

Crooks and Celina should have been kept on the down-low because they are far and above League One level, and we knew Championship teams would come in for them. Robson? Not expecting Championship teams coming in for him, they are liking the look of League 1 LB's currently. Ruffels, Pickering, Maatsen, Reece James all either in the Championship or going to be next season.

Probably misworded the above statements in the original post. My expectation is that Ashton&Co, Oxford lot and Dundee lot won't be as annoyed as Ashton was for Crooks and Celina news getting out.

FFS people he plays for Dundee UNITED, not Dundee. Show more respect.

Do we need to start referring our Ipswich as Ipswich Town all the time? Just in case someone thinks we're talking about Wanderers?

Logically speaking, if the united has already been mentioned, then it's clear that when we say Dundee, we mean them..

Would you just refer to “Manchester”?

So if there were two professional clubs in Ipswich of similar stature and with a long historical rivalry, one was called Ipswich Town and the other Ipswich FC you'd be happy for Ipswich Town to be referred to as simply Ipswich - the name of your arch rivals?

That’s on me, apologies. I remembered to proof-read the article for any times I forgot the ‘United’ or ‘U’ part of it, but forgot about the thread opener.
