It's Royle esq but without the quality or wins 10:04 - Aug 30 with 579 viewshomer_123

Celina. Really like him as a player...at this level...again on paper a ridiculous signing.

For all the talk of stripping away all the fat and having a lean squad I'm beginning to question our approach.

Walton coming in, again, seems decent but I can't see him coming here to sit on the bench. So rather signals that our current number 1 isn't as highly rated by Cook as we thought.

Just got a small inkling that it feels ever so slightly like we are beginning to throw new signings in and 'hope' it works.

Not to mention the continuing Hurst esq 'play in spells...can't see a game out' matches on the pitch.

I’m not so sure. Another keeper was always talked about, and Celina has been a long term target who probably would have been in by now but for his health complications. Also, having watched every game so far a CM / DM that’s not afraid to put his foot in is an absolute must.

We’ll Jackson and Holy can go now. Whether they do or not remains to be seen but they’re clearly both surplus.

The only difference between the Hurst and Cook era is, if it all goes wrong now, I think another manager could come in and get us going in the right direction considering the squad we have. I don’t think anyone could have kept us up in 18/19 with the players we had though I’m sure many a manager would have put up more of a fight with them than Lambert.

At this stage in the window, they would be better off agreeing to just be released, as that would give them a pay-off and the ability to sign for someone else at any time as a free agent. Sitting here for at least half a season with zero game-time is not going to further their careers.

As it has been mentioned already on numerous threads, Walton was a target ages ago and Cook always was after 2 GKs. Its not a case of Cook suddenly thinking that, actually,he just wants to sign Walton now.

Celina certainly should improve us even further as an attacking threat.
