Love this kind of quote from Cooky 10:42 - Sep 10 with 611 viewsgordon

“Whilst we’re not looking for excuses, I’m not that type of manager and never have been and never will be, the brutal reality is that we are going to take a little bit of time to get up to speed.”

Not a dig in any shape or form, just a big fan of the linguistic gymnastics.

He’s very good at those kinds of observations - like last season where he said he wouldn’t dig out players then did so continuously. It’s just his turn of phrase though; he wants to get messages across in a certain way.

Haha yes. He’s said similar a few times now. In fairness he’s a scouser so English is his second language.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

My favourite is

"Us managers always need more players. It's something I learned quite young from senior managers. Never let them know you're happy with what you've got".

which he followed in the next sentence with:

"I'm absolutely delighted with our squad at Ipswich, I've got to tell you. I really, really am".

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over
Poll: What will be announced first?
