Thoughts from the Boardroom - Wycombe 1-4 Ipswich 00:17 - Nov 3 with 1157 viewsMaySixth

I was fortunate enough to get a boardroom invite and watched the game from the halfway line. I was sat with Ashton, O'Leary and Reid and it was interesting how they observed the game.

Although I had a ticket in the away end originally I managed to get it in the hands of a fellow Town fan and I was pretty envious not being in there, the atmosphere sounded unbelievable. So so loud and a great variety of songs, loved the pyrotechnic as well.

We weren't at the races for the first 20 minutes, simply hadnt turned up, the arrival of the coach at 18:45 might have had something to do with that but we looked well out of sorts.

The injury to Coulson, although unfortunate for him, was a blessing in disguise for us as Burgess' physicality shored us up at the back post.

Have to say that we are in very good hands with the people at the top - measured, positive and very open, before, during and after the game. They kept saying how amazing the support was. Wycombe officials very effusive about us.

We deserved to win, maybe not 4-1, but what a statement win. The dressing room noise was electric afterwards and it was good to chat to some of the backroom staff - Jeffers is a really nice bloke.

Credit to Wycombe, I like them as a club and they way they go about things. Met Gareth Ainsworth before the game and what a good bloke he is - really rated Burns and they went for him in the summer - all a bit surreal as we sat in his office pre-game and talked music. Big fan of The Doors.

Anyway, well done to all those in the away end - unbelievable noise, you did the club proud.

The away end was the best atmosphere I've experienced at a Town game since the Hand of Haynes.

To a man, woman and child, we were absolutely incredible, from start to finish.
