What i'd give for a dog walk again. Had to have my boy put to sleep a couple of weeks before xmas.
Was my absolute favourite parts of the day, the 0530 morning walk, come wind rain snow whatever, and the afternoon evening walk in the same conditions.
Huge presence missing in the house.
Enjoy yours for me

My sympathies there Texters , it's heart breaking stuff I know from experience myself.

No matter the weather, (the times I'd look outside the window and back at my dog and ask her if she was having me on...), but they get you out there and when they're gone it's a massive change in the daily routine.

Plus you miss your best pal too.

Sorry to hear about yours.

He's a 15 year old Parsons terrier who has been around for most of Junior's life so I'm kind of counting on him defying nature.
I will give him an extra long walk tomorrow on your behalf.

alarm set for 0515, id snooze for 5mins and lay to listen to the weather..... and in 13 years i can hand on hand say he didnt miss a single walk because of it.

the change in the routine is horrible, i feel a bit of spare part in the house at the times i should be walking him. i mean, 2 young kids, so plenty for me to do, but, you know what i mean.

its started to hit them badly now xmas is over too, as they had that to take their little minds off it..... now, its nightly tears, and questions like "whats the point of living if you just die"....

trying to find the right words for a 7 year old to make her feel better wasnt something they had in the parent manual lol

i'd got mine before i'd met the kids mum (my now wife), with them not even being thought about.

to say that was a bad day when he went, kind of understatement of the year.

After we had we had our old boy put to sleep, I found that people cast suspicious looks at me, a man walking the footpaths and fields on his own. I have to take wifesentence now.
