After a day of shelling from separatist held areas didn't provoke a response, today it's creating refugees and moving them into Russia, followed by an 'explosion' in central Donetsk.

Essentially, this is where we are:

The moment we first heard of these 'attacks' it was obvious to most what was likely to be going on.

No one will be fooled but they won't care. If the excuse isn't there then create one.

Whether it will lead to military action or just add another angle to their supposed leverage I wouldn't know.

I liked the comment from Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov, who told journalists he "didn't know what was going on there with Pushilin".

Doesn't sound like wholehearted support.

Wonder if this is the Separatists trading off the Duma vote to push their own agenda, trying to bouce the Russians into occupying Donetsk? It seems a bit clumsy and obvious for a Kremlin-driven operation.

It has proven rather dangerous for separatist leaders to push too hard; we can only wait and see if Pushilin suffers any accidents in the near future.

I’m sure it’s NATO’s fault somehow…

It’s looking more and more likely Putin will use a false flag. Wonder where he got the idea:

And the next step:

This looks like it will go very badly now.
