Sorry if this has already been covered, but what does everyone make of the new series so far?
I think the old, self-depreciating, slightly nerdy Louis got more out of his interviewees personally. Louise V2 is very 'alpha' and in their faces, constantly challenging, but not really giving his subject time to express themselves.
The old Louis would have got far more out of those far-right bods, but I think he even mentioned in the show that he has to be seen to not let horrible views go now. In some ways that's an interesting new dynamic in his shows, but I feel we learn less as a result..

I liked how he basically made two of those alt-right guys cry. There's nothing wrong with having a bit of a cry, but considering the persona and image they're putting across I thought good on him, it really showed them up to be pretty pathetic and childish.
I didn't like how he approached one of the guys yesterday, the one who was clearly off the wagon and seemed quite vulnerable and depressed to me. Like you say I think it's an interesting new dynamic for this series, but hope he mixes it up a bit in future. [Post edited 21 Feb 2022 14:32]

I do miss his Weird Weekends. They had a bit more charm to them, whereas he's now gone down quite the serious investigative journalist route.
Still enjoy his shows though. |  | | |
