Excellent first half last night and the result we needed but 08:29 - Mar 9 with 526 viewshomer_123

How gutting is it to see Morsy and Edmundson head off? Add to that Burns and Wolfie also struggling.

Could be those four down for Saturday - which is incredibly harsh. Clearly the footballing Gods haven't quite forgiven us for whatever we have done.

Finally, Aluko, did we have his non-footballing twin for his first game in a Town shirt? We saw last night why Reading allegedly splashed out £7.5m on him. Appleton was right, almost unplayable in the first half.

I admit that Lincoln's formation helped in that first half but once we got a grip on their initial good press, by heck there was some very good football again.

I have to say, as well, there is something really quite brilliant seeing Wolfie drive out with the ball last night, skipping past players etc. I seem to recall an ITFC legend being able to do that from the back.

Great stuff last night but gutted re. injuries.

this might be ultra positive, but, even if 1/2 of these guys are out, we have an entire squad drilled to play the same way. each know the role required of them, and can slip in and give the manager a selection headache.
burgess for example, whilst he's not the fridge, he diidnt put a foot wrong, within 5mins he'd won 3 headers and swept around to clear danger.

aluko was simply brilliant lastnight, he turned the same 2/3 players about 6/7 times with the same piece of skill

If Morsy and Edmundson are out for 2/3/4 games I find it hard to see how we can make the play offs, so it's a huge kick in the nuts. I didn't notice LW struggling but seen it mentioned, and Burns would have come off had a sub been available, so add that to the mix and we could be finished.

Good lesson re: Aluko not to judge someone too much based on one game. He's been a quality Championship player, and for a little while PL, for a decade. He was always going to add something. Unplayable sounds about right, he was class. Should have scored second half though, ugly finish with his right foot.

Agree on Wolfy, I just want to see him keep going. You can almost see the moment he thinks 'I've gone too far, best make a pass' but I can see him getting an assist or even scoring from one of them soon.

i'd like to think the players coming in are trusted by the manager, and fellow peers, to do a job as the person they replace does.

far from us being finished
