I almost (only almost) don't blame them. For years, Abramovich and his Chelsea have smoke blown up their backsides by people connected with the game and the media. Various public figures have come out as hgh profile fans, and it seems to have been a nearly two decades celebration.

We've known Abramovich had connects to the Kremlin, we've known Putin has committed war crimes in multiple countries previously. The blame for fans now wedded to the idea of him as their perfect owner is probably a failure of everyone who didn't speak out about him previously. (Plus some of them will just be dicks of course).

I can't say that l blame them, I'd accept a consortium comprising of Pol Pot, Idi Amin and Hugo Chavez of it had meant winning European Cup a few times.
