A far bigger problem with Chinese property than slightly twee, highly ironic, names is that buyers are losing confidence that any apartments they pay for will actually be built which risks crashing the whole sector. And large numbers of annoyed buyers is the sort of social unrest, than Xi won't want when trying to become president for life.

Looking at Chinese property co bond prices I think it's fair to say the sector has already well and truly crashed!

As somebody already said, watch out Taiwan - party conference coming up in October, they'll have to do something given their economy is tanking and and the population have been perpetually locked up for 3 years now.

My grandad was in a care home called Deer Park View, sounds much more idyllic than it was. In fairness it was right next to Hampton Wick where I would push him around, find some wildlife or see people riding horses, often some sort of sport going on there too. Staff were wonderful, but to your point I certainly couldn't see no deer out of his window!

A few years back it was pretty much nailed on that Xi would follow Putin and become president for life but that's looking a lot less certain now.

Quite a lot of discontent with regards to the covid policies, property issues, alienating the West and currently power generation with factories closed due to a lack of electricity.

Every chance he will still get it but it feels a lot less certain that before and I'm not convinced they are willing to have a pop at Taiwan.
