Vaguely controversial take: 'Beaster' is the definitive Sugar album. A masterpiece of....whatever the hell kind of terrible mess of Catholic guilt, black moods and noise was happening in Bob Mould's head at the time.

'Angel Dust' is the best album ever made. Closely followed by 'Earth Vs The Wildhearts'.

Big call on Angel Dust, but it is def in my top 10 ever, and is FNM at their finest. Tbh I think FNM went downhill somewhat after Angel Dust, but that album crystallises all the elements of their sound into one perfect package.
