Derby XI - think I’d take a risk 16:30 - Oct 21 with 771 views | pointofblue | Considering our record so far this may seem slightly knee jerk after Lincoln, but I think I’d like us to see something different tonight and go with two up top. To provide some support to the defence, we could bring in Ball and allow Morsy and Evans to push up more rather than playing with one, or two, number tens. Ladapo’s best work for Rotherham was in a front two and I think he and John-Jules would complement each other well. Walton Donacien - Woolfenden - Edmundson Burns - Ball - Morsy - Evans - Davis Ladapo - John-Jules Substitutes: Hladky, Vincent-Young, Keogh, Edwards, Harness, Chaplin, Jackson Though we could play Chaplin or Harness ahead of Ball and start with more of a 3-4-1-2 formation. I don’t think Ladapo works as a lone front man, though. [Post edited 21 Oct 2022 16:36]

Derby XI - think I’d take a risk on 16:45 - Oct 21 with 647 views | StokieBlue | You're right, it's a knee-jerk reaction to a game where we had 35 shots. It's not going to happen. I also I think you're not going to see Balls, Morsy and Evans in the same midfield. You've got no attacking midfielders at all, no Chaplin, Harness or Edwards. What's the point in two up top if you have nobody to fashion the chances for them? SB [Post edited 21 Oct 2022 16:46]

Most of our attack play comes from the width of Burns and Davis, supported by Donacien, plus Morsy and Evans making runs. Against Lincoln, I think Chaplin and Harness made the least impact out of all of our players. Bringing Ball in frees up Morsy and Evans to push forward further, supporting the wide players in the process. Though I do accept we could alternatively go with Chaplin, Harness or even Edwards behind the front two. | |
