if you have the ability to transport one of the players from that era into the modern team who would be pick?

Mariner - imagine him in the loan striker role
Warky - alongside Morsy
Burley - would solve the RB issue
Beattie - what a dream he would be today!!

sorry just feeling a little melancholy

All the regular first XI in the decade from 72/73 would be in the current team, but given the current squad, Mariner would probably make the most difference to the team.

Fwiw, Beattie was the greatest of them all and Mills was a better right back than Burley.

"Mills was a better right back than Burley"

yes, although I seem to remember he played left most of the time both for us and England

Probably my all time favourite Town players, total profession, complete captain

He played left back after Colin Harper was injured and a very young and good George Burley appeared.
He was decent midfielder as well. And as you say a real professional.

Butcher. He would sort our defensive frailties out.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?
