That’s probably because they’d gone to a back 3, so maybe either trying to pin the left wing back or draw out the left centre back, whatever the reason we were noticeably playing longer and less inclined to provoke the press

We used to do it very well with Scowcroft and Jon Walters after him too.
It's also something Evans did with Davis a lot, not quite the heading aspect, but the diag ball over the defenders head onto the chest of Davis who'd then make the direct run with the ball towards the penalty box. something we've missed since his injury and will be a welcome return in a few weeks.
