Any chance we might see Hirst as the lone striker but Ladapo closer to him than the 10's usually are to Freddy ? or even one of the other 10's close to the lone striker or would that upset the balance too much ? For me game after game we see an isolated lone striker !

It'll be interesting to see what sort of striker Hirst is once fit.

In the brief time we got to see him Sat. He didn't seem to hold that lone role well. He didn't press as well as freddie and when the ball was drilled into him, he didn't seem to hold it well or bring others into play.

But.. he did look like an in the box striker, especially his quick footed shot that only just missed.

We won't see it. But I would love to see Hirst and Ladapo together. Let ladapo be the partner he was at Rotherham and let Hirst be the man to bang the goals in.

a niche perspective

Doesn't really have to be an old school 2 up top as you mention in your OP.

We don't really need the old norwood. Jackson next to each other combo. But ladapo behind hirst slightly could work well..

But suppose what do we then do with broadhead and Chaplin...

thought Hirst's hold up play was alright on Saturday. His pressing maybe wasn't more tactical but he's only been here a few weeks.

Think we will see Chaplin, Broadhead behind Ladapo tonight.

Quite honestly I'm not to worried who the personal are out of our strikers / 10's as long as we play on the front foot from the start not slow for the first 25 minutes.

Low chance in my opinion. Likely Hirst Chappo Broadhead.

I’d stick with Hurst.

It feels like the first game proper for the newbies tonight.
