Today would have been Robson's 90th birthday (also marks 37 years since I passed my driving test)

BBC have done him proud

And this is appropriate

It's stunning to think that Ipswich's last "proper" trophy was won when I was 12, yet the club is better supported now than back then.

I honestly think, people have more disposable income nowadays, compared to 70s and early 80s.... I think a kids entrance to Churchmans was 4 or 5 quid when I was eleven ('81)But it was still hard for my parents to afford. It was a treat to go, rather than an expected, norm.
Goes without saying that Bobby Robson was such a well loved person, throughout the football world. You can tell how well he would of motivated his players.. When he spoke people listened. He was that much respected. Some people are just born with it.. I can honestly say, that when he passed away, it felt like a family member passing. Even though I never met him. There was genuine emotion. ... I have never experienced that kind of emotion , since..For someone I've never met before.
Sadly missed, but very fondly remembered...

I think the words that I wrote in the book of condolence at Portman Road were "Thank you for everything that you did for Ipswich Town, a great manager and a great man."

Not necessarily in that order, as Eric Morecambe might say, but whatever the order, those words still apply.

I met him in as much as I got his autograph when he was a player at WBA in the early 1960's and also in his 'Time On The Grass' book in 1982.

A wonderful manager and a wonderful man.

What an inspiration for McKenna (should he need it).

I absolutely loved Sir Bobby and he gave me the best footballing experiences of my life.

Know I'll shed a tear or two at PR this afternoon.

What a great gentleman he was.

In terms of physical numbers our support is larger but I can't believe we weren't better supported back then, our appeal would have been greater?

I suppose it was the era of hooliganism where it would have been less appealing to families etc for attendance?

There's wall to wall TV coverage now, that's probably helped from a marketing point of view

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!
