Guys I use flashscores (other sites are available) to keep up to date , they've recently introduced in the stats Expected goals, x-G . Is this based on the ongoing game or previous games..i'm a little confused,any simple explanation would be appreciated so i don't feel even more old. |  |

xG is based on the ongoing game, each shot is given a rating depending on the likelihood of scoring a goal (e.g. a penalty has an xG rating of 0.76). All the ratings are added together to form the xG. |  | | |

Cheers Crocker , so i think i get it now...the rate constantly changes through the game going up and down and if the xG is higher than the goals actually scored that is bad and likewise lower = good. | |
