Ah, that was obviously on first reading - but yes, I now see that's what you meant. Hard to see how giving children an equal footing and better start in life can be anything other than positive imo. I'd be all for extending something like that to secondary schools. And bring back Jamie Oliver's better school meals drive too.

It can be done, if there is a will. If we stop seeing others as mere units of productuon to be maintained at the lowest possible cost(Brexit). Other countries see the benefit of ensuring chikdren are fed properly, and hopefully introduced to mutional food at an early age. Any lessin needing to be learned should beseen that around one third of those called for WW1 were demed unfit for service (not fit to be killed), whereas those of British stock from the colonies were taller fitter and healthier as they had not been brought up on low quality food. Post WW2, orange joice for babiles and milk for children was provided, as it was deemed necessary for their growth. It was given direct as it ensured they received it. Lets rid ourselves of the Tory culture that cheapest is best (suitable for the riff raff). The cheapest adulterated processed food. Take a leaf out of Frech schools and see what they offer. Contract local farms (where possible) to supply direct to schools, not have the post brexit sh yte of hormone injected meat used. We are supposedly the 5th or so richest economy and yet we cannot do now what we were easily able to 60 years ago. Time some in this country got off their knees, stopped tugging their forelock and demanded better. Lets build for the future. And that starts with our future, todays children.
