New Depeche Mode song 08:43 - Mar 10 with 715 viewsGlasgowBlue

Heard it in the radio and thought it was a Psychedelic Furs sing from 1984 that I hadn’t heard before.

Turns out it’s co written with Richard Butler from the Furs. More Furs than Mode imo.

Ah… that’s what it was then. I thought there was a similarity to something I couldn’t place when I heard it a few weeks back, and now you’ve said that, it’s clicked.

They’ve just released the second track off the forthcoming album…

I assume that a Gahan written song. They split the writing 50/50 for this new album.

Current issue of Mojo has a long interview with the two surviving members of DM (typing that makes me sad). Looking forward to reading it and playing the CD of rarities from across the band's career.

I'd like to see Vince Clarke join them for one more album. Martin Gore has worked with Clarke on a couple of projects recently so it could happen.
