Sheff weds season tickets on 18:19 - Mar 26 with 1226 views | Vegtablue | I can only see info online for the 2021/22 season, where 12000 were sold by the early bird deadline and the spokesman said this window accounts for 90% of sales. They did well last year and average 24806 at home according to one website, so it will be higher than 13k obviously but lower than 20k I'd have thought. Hillsborough receives some of the larger away crowds in the division, which elevates their home attendance figures more than in the case of others. I agree that it shouldn't be a source of pride or scorn mind you lol, as nice as it is to see so many faces back at the town games since Evans left

Either way, I feel Town’s attendances hold up pretty well by comparison. Sheffield is twice the size of Ipswich. Yes there are other clubs in / around the city, but the population in S Yorkshire is substantially higher I would have thought, than Suffolk. In terms of “ big” clubs in the region you’ve really only got Sheff, Weds /Utd, and Leeds. Clubs like Rotherham, Barnsley , Chesterfield I would think we have support primarily from those towns and very immediate surrounding area. When I lived in Sheffield , the Wednesday fans seemed to be drawn from outside the city as well as from within the city, whereas Utd fan base seemed to be much more city based. Obviously this is just the impression I got whilst I was living up there (for 4 years). No doubt someone will tell me totally different!
