Surely our first bit of business this summer... 12:44 - May 2 with 1298 viewsKieran_Knows

... needs to be tying down Walton, Morsy & Chaplin to new deals? They all run out summer 2024, if I'm not mistaken?

Can see the same as last summer where Burns and Woolfenden got new deals sorted quite early on - IIRC Ashton said at the time he feels it's important to reward and look after your top contracted players.

Expect that will be part of the discussions about the shape of the squad which you'd think would be finalised pretty quickly after the end of the season with regards to who's staying and who's going before we move on any new players.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Would imagine these discussions were already in the pipeline before promotion being confirmed.

Think Walton has a 12 month option on his deal if I'm correct.

I think they all have options and no doubt healthy promotion increases in them so may not be quite as pressing a concern from both sides as yet

Morsy will be 32 shortly after the new season starts & while he's probably been Town's most important player this season, I see no reason to wave a juicy new contract in front of him.
