Advice please. Is there any type of paint I can use on plastic guttering and down pipes. Currently they are a darkish brown and Mrs SSB has decided in her infinite wisdom that she wants them black to match the windows and doors. As they are in good condition and rather than having to go through the palaver of replacing them all, is painting them a viable option?

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Thanks. I’ll check it out. Does it have a tendency to flake off after a few years?

On plastic I tend to use something like this as a primer, then paint normally.

Tho I don't really like painting plastic gutters. Exposed to sun and weather, they are too likely to peel.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Thanks Guthers.
Front of the cottage is west facing so gets the sun, wind and rain the most. Just trying to make use of the existing gutters as don’t really want to spend unnecessary money on new ones and having to find a way of disposing of them that will impact the environment.

I've used plastidip products on plastics in the past with good, a reasonably long lasting results. More fading than peeling tbh.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

That Cover Stain is pretty good stuff, sticks to most things and provides a secure base. Main problem is the flexing and heat expansion of guttering. Black being the most heat absorbent of colours (and fastest radiating it back out again).

Thanks for the advice. Think I’ll at least give it a try.
