I have heard he is supposed to be very good but I think our sight are set higher.

This would be a hard one for Colchester to take! Like Cameron Humphreys, he played for the club from a very young age (and went to the same school as Baggott, St Benedicts, though he's two or three years older.) Went on loan with Noah Chilvers to Bath City in 2019, and this was a big success for both of them, so it was a big surprise and disappointment to many when he was released two years ago, (just before Luke Chambers arrived.) Obviously he's a player John McGreal would know a lot about.

p.s. In slightly related news, Tom Eastman has turned down a contract at Harrogate so he can stay in the area, for his kids' benefit. Hard to see where he might show up, unless he's confident that Southend's finances are improving.
