Weird broadband issue - anyone else had similar? 11:51 - Jun 15 with 1009 viewsblueasfook

My home Broadband router (Provider is Sky), for the last couple of months has been resetting itself (ie. the connection drops and then re-establishes) at exactly 10pm every night. I have lived with it for a while as not usually a big deal and it comes back after a minute. Just last couple of nights it has been annoying as I was in the middle of streaming a movie from Netflix. Just been on phone to Sky support and they weren't very helpful to be honest.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this issue with their router resetting at a certain time of day/night? As I said, it happens at exactly 10pm each night.

I haven't got Sky BB, but this could be an auto-update feature or diagnostic feature set to run.

I've got one on my BT whole home system that runs at 1am and can throw a glitch every now and again.

Worth checking any updates pushed by Sky haven't enabled/re-enabled something you didn't want it to.

I think it's time to sack Sky and go with Virgin. Can get much better speeds where I live with VM anyway. Most I get with Sky is about 50mb/s, which by today's standards isn't great. For same money, more or less, I can get 500mb/s service with Virgin.

Is "streaming a movie from Netflix" a euphemism in this instance?
