Found his comments to be very encouraging. Saying that we are ready for Championship football.. Personally, don't think we are anywhere near our sharpest or fittest, yet..
I expect us to get progressively better as pre season ticks along. So, encouraging comments, indeed. From the manager of a side the finished comfortably upper/mid table, last seaon.

What I liked about last night's first half especially was when we lost the ball. We had flat banks of our players in position quickly and effectively and making it hard for Preston to break us down. We were very very well organised.

a niche perspective

Would take his comments with a pinch of salt, they were designed (as an excuse) for his supporters. We are more ready, they had injuries, playing the kids etc.

Hard to judge PNE last night against the top 10 side they were last season, I thought they were quite poor.

As much as I would like to think other managers make genuine comments. There is nothing to take from other managers. They are either appeasing their own fans or providing space for our own players to ease up thinking they have already arrived. KMcK doesn’t like it and wants his players to focus on themselves and the processes necessary to be successful.

Back to one game at a time.

Town fans don't get overexcited about an opposition manager's throwaway comments about us challenge *impossible*.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Do you think so? Even in a friendly?
I'd understand it if we were into the season already. Imo, he had no reason whatsoever to comment on us. He could of waxed lyrical about any of the good things his side did, and bigged up the youth players they used.
I took his comments as complementary. Not sure that pre season is really the time for mind games, personally.
Having said that, if he was trying to play mind games, then it's because he sees us a threat. Which, in itself, is complementary.
Obviously, take it with a pinch of salt. But there were plenty of other angles he could have come from. I actually thought he sounded a bit taken aback by the standard of a newly promoted side.
With glass half full, of course.

Agree. I think our first 11 will match anyone.

Truly impaired.
