They're feeling the effects of FFP, spent big to maintain a squad capable of being in Europe, found it tough, didn't qualify for Europe, then needed to sell to stay within the FFP rules. At the same time, their owners are Chinese and the Chinese government has told all international businesses/investors in football to reduce their spend in international markets.
So yes, normality for Wolves is likely to return and they'll flirt with, and then in all likelihood, return to the Championship.
