Have you checked to see if your car is ulez compliant or not. You might be surprised it is. I had a 59 plate Skoda that is okay so not sure what so much fuss is.

Sadly it's definitely not ULEZ compliant being diesel, have checked also.
At the rate the ULEZ camera poles are accidently falling down, you'll probably find you can drive anywhere in outer London and not get captured by a camera.

Re Shenfield or Brentwood, it’s worth knowing that Shenfield has fast trains to Stratford & Liverpool Street, as well as the Elizabeth line. From Brentwood it’s Liz line only, so all stations. Don’t know about car parking at those places though.
Depending where you’re coming from, the end of the central line at Epping might be worth considering as well.

Don’t bother with Brentwood, parking is a nightmare and the trains are all stations stoppers. As has been pointed out, Shenfield is the one to go for with trials in 2 overground lines plus the Liz line. Parking is easier now commuting is reduced, NCP car park at the station (not sure on pre booking) and there are other car parks but be careful they aren’t all long term. Don’t bother trying to street park though.

Yes, there are a couple of car parks near Shenfield station. The one on Hunter Avenue is much larger, but the part of it nearer the station is not long-stay.
