The impression I've always got with football is that the perceived lack of a problem is more to do with less rigorous drug testing rather than actual use.

certainly compared to the athlete bio passport, and the whole you must log your whereabouts for 2hrs per day, every day, to allow random spot testing approach some sports have to go through, yep football seems a bit lacking in that dept, though arguably might not even be the worst at sticking their heads in the sand about it.

just a random drug test at first game of the season as an unused substitute led to this case.
