The path ahead, post-Bristol City 21:47 - Oct 25 with 848 viewsJimInGreensboro

Post-Bristol, based on ten-year averages in the Championship, here’s what we would need to do the rest of the way to reach the play-offs or earn automatic promotion:

Play-offs: 1.265 points per match from the remaining 34 matches.
• That's 43 more points for a total of 74 (ten-year playoff average)
• Example: win 12, draw 7, lose 15 (worst case scenario)

Automatics: 1.735 ppm.
• That's 59 more points from 34 matches for a total of 90 (ten-year automatic promotion average)
• Ex: win 17, draw 8, lose 9

Goal differentials notwithstanding.

We are presently on a 2.583 point per match pace and have 17 home matches and 17 away matches remaining.

Every win takes us a big step nearer and reduces the pressure on the rest of the season.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?
