Ending a relationship which you know isn’t right 21:56 - Jan 16 with 1523 views | Swailsey | But you just want to stay in it so badly - when it feels like a drug. I’ve just done this, and although my rationale brain says it’s the right thing to do, I feel extremely sad. It’s head vs heart. Has anyone had experience of this? Knowing it’s the right thing to do, because of how different you are in some ways, and how triggering certain things are, but feeling just incredibly sad? Is this being mature? Why is life so endlessly difficult? Where is the consistent joy? It’s hard not to feel you’re broken. [Post edited 16 Jan 2024 21:58]

It's painful thinking you won't be part of their future and maybe some of your mental pictures of the future may have to change. It's of little use to you right now and it probably doesn't feel like it but you will get over it in time. Good luck and if you need to vent on here, do it.

Sounds like you need a clean break if you know it’s the right thing to do.

The longer you stay in it the harder to break away. Write a list of the good and the bad if the bad out weighs the good walk away however difficult. This is harsh bit like a car you will get a new one and move on look back and wondered why it bothered you so much.
Ending a relationship which you know isn’t right on 22:37 - Jan 16 with 1204 views | RIPbobby | You can only fight your head for so long until your heart gives in. Logically you are 100% doing the right thing, you just need to realise it fully. You also my also realise that you won't fully understand it. You just need to put it in a part of your mind for when you need it. See the squeeze song - labelled with love.

Just hang in there while you work it through 👍
