When we were on top against Villa just before half time, Martinez went down, their physio came on and Villa had 2-3 minutes to compose themselves, it took the sting out of the game and killed our momentum. We don’t seem capable of doing the same. Pressure builds, you can sense what’s coming but we just don’t seem capable of avoiding the inevitable. We should have been capable of getting to half time with a 2-1 lead and seeing it out for a draw at the end.

Wrong to be too negative after a much-improved display, 3 goals and a return to a team that bore at least some relationship to what we have been used to over the past 2 years. A long way to go yet, still not in the bottoms 3 and we’ll improve.

Sorry, I have to disagree. Ten goals racked up against us in three games and we were lucky to get away with that. A club record of not winning games. Injuries piling up, I’m seeing little to cheer me up.

It feels like if we go full throttle and the opposition haven’t got going we are just about ok. As soon as they go through the gears, cheerybye, see you later. The opposition (even Fulham) control games, we do not beyond a certain point and the mistakes and goals pile in.

Ok we showed some spirit today which is good and we even managed a goal or three. Hurrah, it’s a crumb I suppose. I do think a team that looks more like that of the past two seasons might help, including Woolfy and Walton.

Did you watch us against Villa? Did you see Leicester last night? We’ll win next week.

Chaplin did that in the first half. The whole team took a drinks break and regrouped. We then ended up a man down for the next minute!

I would point out that Chaplin went down 'injured' on 25 minutes, our whole team went and had a big team talk with McKenna, and then we had our best spell of the game with our 2 goals.

We are more than able to do the game management.

Good point about Chaplin and what happened afterwards, we just don’t seem very good at it when we need to slow the game down and disrupt the flow of the opposition.

FWIW I agree to some extent - we did it with Chaplin, but we should almost certainly have done something to kill the first half wen they got the first goal back.

I was at the Villa game, didn’t watch Leicester last night.

We were decent in patches and especially got at Villa at the end, but like Fulham, we didn’t deserve more than a point. They controlled large chunks of the game in the way Leeds did last season and as good teams do.

Next week? Leicester are above two of the teams that wiped the floor with us with ease and are going ok for a promoted side five points above us. I dearly hope you are right. Fingers crossed.
