away from being a side that could stay up this season , as disappointing as it is to lose in the manner we did today and in recent games we can’t fault the effort and commitment from the players which was excellent today sadly the reality is we just aren’t quite good enough to stay up this season , had we managed to get 2-3 PL standard players in the summer I think we would have had enough as we are competitive in almost every game nobody’s thrashing us we just make too many errors and don’t have players that are able to come off the bench and change a game when we need it !

I think we would have been OK if Hirst had stayed fit. He and Delap can easily cover 90 minutes and are a handful. From what I have seen of Ali he is very good inside the box, but lacks a bit of bite outside the box. Mind you he is recovering from a nasty injury.
I still think we need another CM who is highly combative. Sammy is 33 now and on the whole has done well. I feel he needs to be rested soon. I would be inclined for him to really go for it v Wolves and maybe look to get this 5 card ban done.
Love Wes to bits and his pace is awesome, but he needs to learn to beat a player with skill . I might even be inclined to rethink his position. He is not enough as RM for me. We were so much more effective today with Omari showing the full back his array of tricks today. He didn't really deliver anything dangerous, but he did keep the full back contained. I still think the chap we got in from the baggies is worth trying at left back and then giving Leif a free role ahead of him. I think he would be awesome with his fitness. Imagine being a defender and have Liam, Omari and Leif hot on your heels. Tough. Centre halfs have been ace. Dara is really solid and we have had great minutes out of Cameron and Greaves. The last few games Muric has really been brilliant. He has come on so much.
Yes new recruits are needed. Deffo another striker in the Delap/Hirst mould. A CM who is a big bigger. Our CM is quite short in height I feel. We need a new young, quick, fit work horse. But I trust our manager has a plan and we can hopefully get a few new recruits in to help us out. All is not lost yet. But this month will seem very long if we dont get 3 points at Wolves Saturday. I said at the beginning of the season to my Father-In -Law to have any chance of staying up, we would need to be lucky with Injuries. We have had the opposite.

I always felt we could do with a Kante type to cover Morsy or even Luongo
Instead we have got Cajuste and Phillips who are both decent players and actually looked pretty good together at Brentford
Cajuste looks reasonably big to me, albeit not the fastest
Phillips looks really short on confidence and his own game but there's clearly a player in there, hopefully he can come good still |  |
